Where the money goes

Whichever Lifesaving gift you choose, your gift from SH2OP for Life will help people gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education.

The cost of your gift will go towards our water, sanitation and hygiene projects in Africa and Asia as well as related support costs, to ensure WaterAid keeps on helping more communities long into the future.

The proceeds from our campaigning gifts will go towards our advocacy projects. These influence the change in government thinking required to ensure water and sanitation is provided for all.

All of the profits from our Christmas cards contribute to WaterAid's vital work.

Cost of items
Every year we ask our country offices to give us a list of the cost of items in the country where they work. This ranges from taps to toolkits to pipes and training.
These prices vary considerably between the countries where we work and sometimes even by the regions in each country. However all show the real costs of each of these items.

Sometimes the original price point is divided or multiplied to show the amount for more than one item – e.g. two bags of cement or two taps.

VAT
All VATable purchases (physical goods such as cards) include VAT at the prevailing rate. Our VAT number is 736 1798 05.
