Our mission
WaterAid is an international not-for-profit, determined to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation. Only by tackling these three essentials in ways that last can people change their lives for good.
Without all three, people can’t live dignified, healthy lives. With all three, they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty, and change their lives for good.

How we work
We are the largest global, not-for-profit focused solely on sustainable, clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene.
We install clean water systems such as taps, toilets, boreholes and wells. We train local people to manage and maintain taps and toilets, using local, low-cost parts.
And, to make lasting change happen on a massive scale we show decision makers how it can and should be done. We convince governments to change policy and we persuade governments, donors and financial institutions to invest in these basic services.
