Solo washing her hands at her village hand pump
Before the hand pump was installed in Solo's village she had to collect dirty water from an unprotected spring near her village, Antohobe in Madagascar. Because she had to make multiple trips every day to collect water she didn't have time to go to school.
Access to clean water allows girls, like Solo, to live healthy lives and to stay at school, giving them the opportunity to forge a positive future for themselves and for their communities.
